One of the most amazing games I have ever played
Have you ever wanted to control a large army and still fight with them on the battlefield?
I don't mean it in a "RTS" way, but in a third person perspective while hundreds of arrows are coming towards you. Angry soldiers march towards you and knights riding with no other desire than leaving you in a pool of blood.
That's why I think Mount&Blade is great. The "map" part of the game looks somehow like a Turn-Based Strategy game, the only different is that you don't have any moving points
The game also offers RPG elements, like money you can spend on equipment, hiring soldiers from various villages and also buying food for them to keep their morale up.
Also you can choose from a variety of awesome mods which you can find on the official forums. The mods range from simple tweaks or graphical enhancements to even Star Wars mods.
Everyone can download the game. The "demo" lets you advance until level 10. However there is nothing stopping you from restarting the game.
A license and serial key costs about 29,99$ but the game is worth every cent.
An add-on is being prepared for the game as well. The release date, however is "TBA 2010". The add-on will implement several graphics enhancements and multiplayer.
